CHALLENGE
The municipal housing association makes a valuable contribution to the city of Munich and its residents by offering affordable housing that meets the needs of its citizens. This 10-year project with GEWOFAG was always about realising the company's vision that GEWOFAG should be transitioned from an administrative arm of the state capital of Munich into a modern urban housing association with motivated employees, satisfied tenants and a relational partnership with all stakeholders. GEWOFAG should also be seen as an attractive employer. These goals were implemented by ISARNAUTEN for over 10 years, and successfully communicated to the outside world through an integrated communications plan.
SOLUTION
New brand guidelines were commissioned for this project, consisting of typography, brand palette and imagery as a basis for the long-term communications work. This played an important role in the internal and external communication of the development of the brand. The old GEWOFAG logo was relaunched and given a more modern look. ISARNAUTEN developed a detailed CD-ROM manual with over 180 pages especially for this purpose. This was developed from numerous annual reports, brochures (for example for the 90th anniversary of the organisation, including an anniversary logo) energy reports and project books. In addition, some photographic sessions were planned and carried out by ISARNAUTEN. As a result, an image archive was created, with authentic pictures of tenants and employees that were used in a variety of ways. Other large projects were the development of a website and an intranet that was intended to strengthen communication within the organisation. These served the company for many years and are now being modernised and optimised for mobile.
SUCCESS
In addition to the successful implementation of this multi-stranded project, which included company parties and parties for tenants, ISARNAUTEN worked to involve many of the 700 GEWOFAG employees in change processes, actively collaborating with them from within the company. We used internal workshops to learn about the demands that employees were making on online platforms, and how we could use them to support employees in their day-to-day work. Internal communication included actions that contributed to a better working atmosphere, such as making workspaces distinctive with inspiration in the form of wall murals. After 10 years, ISARNAUTEN leaves GEWOFAG strengthened, more contemporary, happier and better known - and very satisfied with the successful project.
